Choosing a Double Umbrella Stroller
When you are looking for a double umbrella stroller it's crucial to assess your family's needs and priorities. This will simplify your options and let you focus on the features that matter most.
The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 double umbrella stroller is a high-quality, well-designed product that folds in a compact manner. It has big canopies as well as an enormous storage container. It is also very easy to maneuver.
Lightweight
The top double umbrella strollers provide lots of features in a light, compact package. They're not as heavy as a conventional jogger or stroller and tend to be smaller when folded. Although they lack the whistles, bells, and storage space of larger strollers; they do provide large canopy areas and reclining seats.
Many families opt for a light double umbrella stroller as it's a great travel stroller. It folds easily, can be tucked away in the majority of trunks and airline carry-on bags, and is generally a good choice for navigating the narrow streets and narrow doors. It's cheaper than more feature-rich "travel stroller" which you could use for your daily walks.
Some of the top double umbrella strollers, such as the UPPAbaby G-Link 2, have certain features you won't see on the cheaper models. The double umbrella stroller comes with hanging storage pockets, tray for snacks and toys in each seat and two cupholders for parents. The sleek design makes this double umbrella stroller among the smallest on the market. It also has an extra-wide canopy to safeguard both seats.
Other options that are lightweight such as the Joovy Kooper X2, offer more bells and whistles than you would expect from a double stroller umbrella. It also offers a more comfy ride for both children due to padded seats and a deeper recline on each seat. The more features you select, the heavier the stroller. Also, you should be sure that your child doesn't put their fingers on the frames or hinges of these strollers due to how they open and close.
Compact
The smallest double umbrella strollers when folded are easy to maneuver and fit well in tight spaces. They're a great option for parents who intend to take their stroller regularly on sidewalks, at shopping malls, or to visit tourist attractions like the aquarium, zoo or museums. These lightweight, compact strollers are also ideal for commuting or as a substitute for an extra heavy, feature-packed stroller when traveling.
There are two main types of umbrellas that are lightweight one of which is one with a limited number of features and those that offer many comfort and convenience features, in addition to their compact size and lightweight weight. Some of the best examples include large pop-out umbrellas, with SPF 50, peekaboo windows and seating cushions. They also have 5-point safety harnesses on both sides, leg rests as well as reclined seats. Other crucial aspects to take into consideration are whether or not you need a tray for parents or car seat attachment and how much storage space each seat comes with.
The Delta Children LX Double Umbrella is a fantastic example of a basic minimalist stroller that is extremely light and incredibly affordable. The stroller weighs only 18 pounds, comes with a handy carrying strap and can be easily stored in the trunk of your car or in the front hall closet. Its front wheels are precise and can swivel to give you an easier ride and smoother steering. The new Kinderwagon Hop is a tandem umbrella stroller that has a narrow width that is also light and easy to navigate through doorways. The model was off the market for a couple of years, but is returning to production and is worth checking out. It also comes with a bigger three-panel canopy to provide better sun protection than the smaller, basic models in this review.
Easy to Fold
The simplest umbrella strollers collapse like umbrellas and weigh much less than other kinds of strollers. They are easy to lift, carry and store which makes them perfect for when you can't or aren't able to carry your full-size pram for whatever reason (traveling via plane, traveling to in a new country, visiting grandma). They usually aren't as well-equipped as an all-inclusive stroller, but they should offer the basic features you require for the sun canopy and storage.
The UPPAbaby G-Link 2's latest version is lighter, narrower and has an efficient wheel structure on the front, which improves its maneuverability and pushability. It's a great choice for a travel stroller that can hold two children. It's Disney approved!
A double tri-fold stroller, like the Joovy Kooper X2, offers all the features of a stroller that has an umbrella design, but with a body comparable in size to a regular full-size stroller. This type of stroller is replacing the traditional double umbrella stroller. It's probably the best choice if looking for a lightweight, flexible stroller.
The majority of double umbrella strollers we recommend are side by side models. The Kinderwagon Hop is an umbrella tandem stroller that's light and easy to fold. It is also relatively narrow. If you're looking for a cheap simple, basic, no-frills double umbrella stroller that you can put in your back pack or trunk for quick trips, we highly recommend this one. It even comes with two storage bags hanging from the backs of each seat as well as parent cupholders. It's so basic that it's unlikely to get your kids through the airport without causing them to be cranky, but it will help make the journey more comfortable.
Comfortable Seats
Most umbrella strollers don't feature much in the way of bells and whistles since they're made to only get two kids from one location to B. This means they typically have seats that are comfortable and spacious but do not have recline options or all-terrain wheels.
The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is the only exception. It's a surprisingly light and compact double umbrella stroller that has two seats that weigh less than 18 pounds each, which makes it an ideal choice for travelers (it meets Disney size requirements). It has a huge canopy with three panels that shields children from sun. Both seats offer a good amount of storage however, not like some of our top picks. It comes with 5-point safety belts on both seats, and a the ability to peek into the canopy.
A downside of the G-Link is that it lacks the belly bar and snack tray we've come to see in our top picks, but they aren't the most important features to have on an umbrella stroller anyway. Like all umbrella strollers, the G-Link should be handled with caution to avoid getting your fingers caught in the hinges and mechanisms.

In most double umbrella strollers with seats, they are side-byside. However there are double pushchair that feature inline seating (one seat is in front of the other). Inline models are more convenient to maneuver through doorways than side-by-side models, but they often have a disparity in seating options which could cause your kids to argue over who gets the best seat. This was pretty evenly split between our previous test participants and it boils down to an individual choice.
Safety
The safety of your children should be a top priority when you choose a stroller and the design of a double umbrella stroller can make or break this aspect of its performance. Some models are close to offering the same level safety as full-sized double strollers. They typically come with 5-point harnesses, calf and foot rests for the kids, and an extendable, UPF 50+ sun visor. They are usually also smaller and lighter than other double umbrella strollers which makes them easier to maneuver in tight spaces such as airports or city streets.
Certain models, like the Kinderwagon Hop, are side-by-sides and are easy to maneuver through tight spaces. This stroller is an excellent option for parents who are traveling with children and require a quick and convenient way to get around. It's also compact enough to fit easily into a trunk or storage space.
The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is another model that is worth considering. It is among the most lightweight double strollers we've tested. It is a sturdy design for an umbrella and has a large, accessible storage basket, reclining seats, and a peek-aboo window. The seat is able to hold 35 pounds. and is able to meet Disney stroller requirements.
Other models, like the Jeep PowerGlide double stroller, are more basic in appearance and may not come with as many features. They are light and can be used as backups or even for occasional travel. These strollers are also cheaper than renting one for a complete vacation or for a trip. They're easy to fold, lift, carry and store away.
